Last month, I finally took the plunge and started a new blog from scratch. All my old blogs used to be called Defiantly Deviant, but this time I thought of a different name. I wasn’t ready for too much change, so I came up with Defiantly Yours – it was important to me that the word defiant still be part of ny my new blog name, and Defiantly Yours just fits. It’s the perfect name to have as I take on a new blogging journey.
This blog has given me so much joy in the short two weeks it went live. I wasn’t really expecting anything when I published my first post, I’ve been so overwhelmed by the all your support. Thank you so much for the follows, the likes, the comments. All your support neans the world to me. I have no words to explain just how much I missed the blogging community and how much I missed talking about books, but I’m so, so happy to finally be back.
Now, let’s talk about books! Like July, I spent much of August reading backlist titles and rereading old favorites, and I’m happy to say that I’ve found three new favorites! In fact, I already reread all three of them. 😉 This September however, I’m going to challenge myself – I’ll be reading more recent releases and ARCs but I’m promising to myself that I won’t put older titles in the back burner again.

10 books – up 4 books from July’s 6 books! Woohoo! Unfortunately most of August’s reads are *just* okay, which is a bit of a bummer. One the plus side, I have three five star reads – Huge Deal by Lauren Layne, Hearts on Air by LH Cosway, and Lies by Kylie Scott (this one is especially good), and I hope to post their reviews in the coming weeks!

With work, blogging, and reading, I haven’t been able to sneak in much time to do anything else, but with September, my birthday is coming up and I have a lot of time off planned! It’s going to be a challenge celebrating my birthday with COVID, but I’m looking forward to relaxing and having as much as I can inside the house. Maybe I’ll finally binge watch a series… Maybe The Boys? Breaking Bad? Money Heist? I don’t know yet…

Bingewatch “Lovesick” on Netflix! It’s super short too

I loved that entire series by L.H. Cosway. LIke you, I’m working more on my backlist than new releases (other than ARCs). I’m hoping to stick to it for the rest of the year. My tbr piles are ridiculous! Happy reading 🙂
