I wouldn’t say I’m a big fan of mysteries, thrillers, or horror novels – I consider myself a scaredy-cat, and I can’t stomach anything terrifying. This year though, I’ve been doing my best to diversify my reading, and when I see my favorite authors like Nalini Singh and Alyssa Cole release acclaimed thrillers… Of course I’ll check them out! Below are ten mysteries/horror/thrillers in my TBR. I haven’t read any of them so no brief descriptions from me, but they’re all pretty hyped books!
Without further ado, here they are…Continue reading “Top Ten Tuesday: Mysteries, Horror, and Thrillers in my TBR”
Princess Ashleigh Charmaine is known as the Glass Princess, fragile enough to shatter with a whisper of wind. Born with a weak heart, she dreams of being treated like anyone else. Unlike her headstrong sisters, she received no magical ability at birth and lives every day expecting to die. Until an oracle announces that Ashleigh is fated to play the part of Cinderella, wed a handsome royal and save the Kingdom of Sevon from the evil king and queen who once ruled the land.
As war rages, Ashleigh begins to doubt her role in the fairy-tale prophecy. Animals despise her, she can’t carry a merry tune and she has zero social graces. Worse, the king she’s supposed to enchant is the newly crowned sovereign of the winged warriors known as the Avian…and he despises her, too.
When Ashleigh develops a terrifying magical ability to commune with dragons and create fire from air—a power she cannot control—she must work with King Saxon to save their kingdoms and their lives. By the stroke of midnight, she must warm his icy heart…or forever break her own. Will Ashleigh ever become the queen she’s prophesied to be…or will she lose everything she’s come to love?Continue reading “Review: The Glass Queen by Gena Showalter”
A part of me can’t believe that it’s already October… Time is passing by so quickly! September was a pretty good month for the blog – I’ve been posting regularly, and I’m now at 150 wordpress and email followers! I can’t even begin to explain how much the follows, the likes, and the comments on my posts mean to me. While I’ve been blogging since 2012, I’ve also been on a hiatus for years, and I wasn’t sure if there were still people interested in reading what I had to say. Yet… Here you all are. 🙂 I couldn’t be more thankful to each and every one of you.Continue reading “My September Monthly Wrap Up”
In my previous Top Ten Tuesday posts, I talked about how I usually have trouble following the prompt, but not today! I soon as I saw this week’s prompt, I immediately knew what I wanted to write. So, without further ado, here are ten of my favorite book quotes. Some are dialogues between characters, while most are simple thoughts that the main characters have, and all of these quotes have stuck with me through the years.Continue reading “Top Ten Tuesdays: My Favorite Book Quotes”
I have a three date rule — but it’s not what you think.
See, I’ve been told I’m the “good time girl,” not the one you take home to Mom. And while that label stung at first, I’ve since embraced it — living the wild and free life and sticking to a three date max. That’s just enough time to have some fun and snuff out the possibility of catching feelings. And it’s been working for me for years…
Until Makoa Kumaka.
Sadly, he also has a three date rule — and it’s the exact opposite of mine. From the second I meet him, all I can think about is stripping down that six-foot-five Herculean hunk of a man. But like the gentleman I wish he wasn’t, he’s making me wait.
The more time we spend together, the more I feel those pesky emotions creeping in. I’m even tempted to trust him, but blame it on my past or my instincts, I can’t shake the feeling that he’s hiding something…
I’ve been playing the game forever, and no man has ever won my heart — which meant they never had the power to break it.
But maybe I just hadn’t met the right player.
Maybe I’ll wish I never did.Continue reading “Review: The Right Player by Kandi Steiner”
How is everyone doing? I hope you’re all doing okay! I was sick with a throat infection the past week, and I’ve also been extra busy with work, so I haven’t had the chance to blog much. Thankfully, I’m feeling much better in time for my birthday (!!!) tomorrow, and I’m looking forward to just relaxing, reading, and getting back to blogging – I can’t wait to share what I’ve been reading lately!
So, without further delay, here are ten books that are in my TBR this fall! And yes, they’re all Fall 2020 releases!Continue reading “Top Ten Tuesday: Books on My Fall TBR”
